Onmyōji  陰陽師 yin-yang shi 夢枕 獏 Yumemakura Baku This one took a while because I stopped to work on another project; a fansite for Onmyoji, to track all the various media related to the series! Much of it is Japanese only, but I'll be translating everything I can. Check it out - there are links to all the tv shows, movies, mangas, soundtracks, merch, even the stage plays. Alongside the novel, I'll be working on translating the movie programs and the Ito Sei manga first. - Muse [ twitter ] [ youtube ] Please support the official release if you can~ [ link ] Chapter FIVE < previous || next > That night, three people gathered together in front of Shishinden Hall, beneath the cherry tree. [1] Seimei arrived a little late. He wore a soft white kariginu [2], carrying a jug which was tied by a string to his left hand. Although he carried a lantern in his right hand, he seemed to have left it unlit, walking in the dark. On his feet, he wore pale black lacquered shoes. Hiromasa was

Onmyoji, The Yin Yang Master [Book 1]: Chapter 4

Onmyōji  陰陽師 yin-yang shi 夢枕 獏 Yumemakura Baku Wow, short chapter, and it was mostly dialogue so pretty easy, save one or two odd lines. I feel like I'm getting a better hang for verb conjugations, which was always hell for me in high school. Why couldn't French class have novel translations as an assignment? Lol. - Muse [ twitter ] [ youtube ] Please support the official release if you can~ [ link ] Chapter four < previous || next > "So, I've returned," Hiromasa told Seimei. In his story, the servant had been crying and trembling, the light having just vanished. "Was that the night before yesterday?" "Yes." "And last night?" "As a matter of fact, I heard the biwa last night, too."  "Did you seek it out?" "I did, but this time, I went alone." "To Rashomon?" "Yes, alone. I listened to the biwa for a while, but that kind of musical talent is beyond living humans now. I called out

Onmyōji  陰陽師 yin-yang shi 夢枕 獏 Yumemakura Baku Whew! This was a doozy. The historical figure that appears here is not heavily researched in English, so I had a hard time finding his poems. This chapter will definitely need touch ups as I continue researching him, but I'll let you folks know when it's updated. For now, enjoy Hiromasa crying about music a whole lot. Precious boy. - Muse [ twitter ] [ youtube ] Please support the official release if you can~ [ link ] Chapter THREE < previous || next > The evening when Hiromasa heard the sound of the biwa, he was working a night shift at Seiryu-den Hall. It's another story that's told of in the Konjaku Monogatari. This man, Hiromasa, a man quite skilled in the Kangen musical style [1], had given a heavy sigh once he calmed down enough to consider the loss of the Genjou biwa. Listening from Seiryu-den Hall, he heard the sound of someone playing the biwa, coming from the south. As the sound hit his ears his mind cle

Onmyōji  陰陽師 yin-yang shi 夢枕 獏 Yumemakura Baku Welcome! This chapter wasn't as tough as the first since it's half dialogue, so hopefully if future chapters are as chatty it won't take me so long to update this. Lots of cool stuff! The name/curse discussion, Hiromasa appears, the stolen biwa... I'm excited to see where this goes! Enjoy!  - Muse [ twitter ] [ youtube ] Please support the official release if you can~ [ link ] Chapter Two < previous || next > Minamoto no Hiromasa [1] visited Abe no Seimei’s mansion at the beginning of Minazuki, the month of June in the lunar calendar [2]; in the modern reckoning, it might have been the tenth day of July. The rainy season hadn’t quite ended, yet, and it was a rare day where the constant rain had paused. However, the sun was still hidden, the sky painted a pale white as if it were covered by a sheet of origami paper. [3]  It was early morning; the leaves and grass were fresh and wet with dew, the air pleasantly chille
