Onmyōji 陰陽師 yin-yang shi 夢枕 獏 Yumemakura Baku Welcome! This chapter wasn't as tough as the first since it's half dialogue, so hopefully if future chapters are as chatty it won't take me so long to update this. Lots of cool stuff! The name/curse discussion, Hiromasa appears, the stolen biwa... I'm excited to see where this goes! Enjoy! - Muse [ twitter ] [ youtube ] Please support the official release if you can~ [ link ] Chapter Two < previous || next > Minamoto no Hiromasa [1] visited Abe no Seimei’s mansion at the beginning of Minazuki, the month of June in the lunar calendar [2]; in the modern reckoning, it might have been the tenth day of July. The rainy season hadn’t quite ended, yet, and it was a rare day where the constant rain had paused. However, the sun was still hidden, the sky painted a pale white as if it were covered by a sheet of origami paper. [3] It was early morning; the leaves and grass were fresh and wet with dew, the air pleasantly chille
Thanks for making these! Saw the first movie as a kid and loved, shocking that it hasn't been translated before!

ReplyDeletejust a suggestion, please put footnotes directly below the chapter, there is no need for you to separate them to other pages.
This is quite disturbing reading comfort.
Thank you so very much for all your work! It is priceless for me and for many don't doubt of it <3
ReplyDeleteHi and thanks for all your hard work!
ReplyDeleteI have a question and I couldn’t find an email, so I hope it’s alright if I ask here.^^
Do you accept guest translations, so to speak? I’d like to translate one of the later Onmyouji stories for some of my friends, but I have nowhere to publish it so that other interested people might actually find it. I don’t need to be credited or anything, and I can provide the necessary footnotes as well. So if it’s alright, please let me know what your policy is.
In any case, thank you for reading, and I hope you’re doing great~
Thank you for all of your work with translating this. I'm new to the Onmyoji stories. I first watched the early 2000s movies (Onmyoji 1 & 2), then the 2023 Netflix anime series, and also a movie made in China based off of these characters (Yin Yang Master: Dream of Eternity). These shows got me interested in not only these characters (including the real people who existed) but learning about Heian era Japan. So it's been really cool to find and read this translation from the original novels that started it all. So thank you again for this translation, I really enjoyed reading it.
